Early Rising Benefits

I like starting my days early.  I’m at my best in the mornings.  Your body clock may of course work to a different beat or you may just be blissfully unaware of some of the benefits an early start can bring.

So what are some of the benefits?

1) A New Start

Welcoming in the start of a new day is rejuvenating and if you ask me, also a little magical at times.  You’re welcoming in a new start.  A chance to reflect on what and where you want to take action.  A chance to make good on those things you didn’t get around to yesterday.

2) Clarity of Thought

My brain definitely likes to fire up and get started early.  Often my best and most productive thoughts come early in the day.  I take advantage of this by trying to front end anything that will need some thinking to the first part of the day.

The mornings are clear of the distractions that start to come as the day warms up (mainly in the shape of other people!) which makes thinking a lot easier.

3) You’re Ahead of the Game

Early starts mean you beat the majority of the crowd to getting your day started and under way.  You can get stuff done and achieve things before your neighbour has even opened his or her eyes.  This can be liberating and can make the rest of your day run a lot more smoothly.

It might even mean you can take the rest of the day off!

4) Time for You

Early mornings can be a wonderful time to reflect on all that is good in your life.  A time to think of all the wonderful things and people in your life.  A chance to just be before the day gets going.  A time for a coffee and you and your thoughts before the rest of the world starts to make demands on your time.

Give early starts a go, I’m sure you’ll soon come up with your own list of benefits if you do.
