“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have”
– Maya Angelou
I’m a writer. Whilst writing doesn’t pay all my bills, after 20 published books, hundreds of essays and thousands of poems, I nevertheless feel confident calling myself such.
Writing is a passion. A North Star in my life. It brings me challenge, joy and more.
If this resonates and writing is also ‘your thing’, then I encourage you to fill the page as much as you can, in your own unique way.
Commit to making your writing the best it can be, keep chipping away and refining your ideas. Keep turning up and trying to make today’s work better than yesterday. Commit to do similar tomorrow.
Don’t get discouraged.
Don’t get distracted.
Your work isn’t for everyone and that’s okay, in fact it’s entirely healthy.
Release your words out into the world without any expectations.
Unleash Your Inner Creative
If writing isn’t for you, find a creative outlet that does light you up. It could be drawing, painting, coding, podcasting, dancing or any number of things.
Rediscover the pure joy of expressing yourself. Fall in love with the process. Awaken the creative spirit within.
