Overview

‘A Little Book of Haiku’ is a collection of short form poetry and reflections on the journey that is our lives.

 

Chapters are divided into some broad stroke areas of focus.  Some poems are light, exploring the everyday, some dip into deeper aspects and the ‘big’ questions life presents us with.  Some explore the darker side of life.  Some explore the elements and nature.  Some are personal, others written in the perspective of a third person, through the eyes of an external character.

 

In certain places, a thought, quote, or some context, have been added with the entries.  Adding some colour to the reading experience.

 

I hope you enjoy what you read, and it encourages you to dig deeper into exploring the Japanese forms of haiku and senryu.  Discovering, or rediscovering, some of the greats or trying to craft your own.

 

Broader than this, I hope this book also inspires the poet and creative in you.  We all have one.
