“What the superior man seeks is in himself; what the small man seeks is in others.”
– Confucius
1) Seeking Approval
There will always be someone quick to tell you: “you can’t / shouldn’t / are not good enough”
The world is full of critics, and those that are consumed by fear, who wish to pass on the curse to others.
Seeking approval from others will keep us shackled and bound. Leave that behind, life is for living.
Put your skin firmly in the game.
2) Waiting for the ‘Perfect’ Time
There will never be a perfect time. We can always find a reason not to. An excuse to hide behind longer. At some point we just need to hit the Go button.
3) Over-Deliberation
We live in the information age. Whilst being able to find out about just about anything, with a few clicks, should be a privilege it also creates a paradox. We over analyse. We get stuck in ‘research’ mode and forget the action part.
You will never get to the end of a Google search.
Narrow down your choices. Focus only on a few trusted sources and voices. Then get to work.
