The Seeker

“Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the men of old; seek what they sought.” – Basho

We want answers, to the most secretly held truth.  A universal truth.

Why are we here?

What is our purpose?

How should we live this precious life?

How can we contribute?

How can we make positive change happen?

How can we do better? How can we be better?

How can we make the world a better place?

Is this it?

The answers we seek swirl with the wind.  Some can be found in the sun rising and setting.  Others can found in the everyday.  Will we notice them?  Can we recognise them?  Will we hear them?  Can we catch them?  Will we choose to believe them?

Life moves.  It cares little for our plans, goals and hopes.  It moves on regardless.   To try to make sense of this becomes a lifetime’s work for some but is there always sense to be made?

Perhaps our job is not to make sense of life but, to instead, flow with what it brings. To ride the crest of waves and move past the biggest of challenges.

The point of life is that is to be lived.  And perhaps that should be enough.
