“He who is contented is rich” – Lao Tzu
A long morning walk.
A goal achieved.
The first coffee of the day.
New life and the first signs of Spring.
Catching up with a friend.
Stopping to really take in a beautiful view.
Celebrating in someone else’s success.
Losing ourselves in a great book, film or piece of music.
Spending time with nature and the great outdoors.
So often we overlook these moments. We rush by them and fail to fully enjoy them, in pursuit of large goals or the latest deadline. This is a sorry state of affairs as these moments are the real fabric of our lives. The moments that can bring most meaning to our days. Bringing a sense of presence, purpose, calm and even stillness, that the world around us tries hard to disrupt.
All of these moments are simple but all can be powerful. Each and every one of them giving us positive fuel for our day. Giving us a foundation to launch from.
Embrace the simple moments. Nurture them, protect them and most of all, make the time to enjoy them fully. These seemingly simple moments can often be the most beautiful of moments, if we just take the time to notice and appreciate them.
