Walking with the Rain

“When my master and I would walk in the rain, he would say, “Do not walk so fast, the rain is everywhere

– Shunryu Suzuki

If we rush through our days, we inevitably rush through our life.  And life will move quickly enough, without us helping it along.

Whilst looking forward and planning has it’s place, too often we lose ourselves in a future that may never materialise.  We disconnect from this moment in pursuit of the illusion that is next week, next month or next year.

What if we tried to sit with this moment instead? What if we tried to enjoy today for what it gives us, not always yearn for tomorrow, or the next, or the next?

What if we walked with the rain?
