Life Trades

“The clock is ticking, the hours are going by. The past increases, the future recedes. Possibilities decreasing, regrets mounting.”
– Haruki Murakami

We make trades all the time.

We trade our time. We trade our energy. We trade our hard earned money. We trade our attention.

In essence, we trade our life.

Are the trades worth it?

Are these trades helping us get closer to our goals?

Are the trades we are making giving us the best chance of living our version of a good life?

If not, maybe we should be making different trades.

Too many of us move through life in motion but not really stopping to reflect on where that motion is taking us. If it’s helping or hindering. If it’s letting us live our most authentic and intentional lives. If the motion is moving us closer to our dreams. If it is meaning we get to spend more quality time invested in those things, and people, we care about most. If it means we can turn up present, fully engaged and enthused about what we are doing, and who we are spending time with.

The trades we make in life take a toll on us physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. There is a cost attached to everything we do.

Make it a cost worth paying.
