Zero Margins

Many of us try to run our lives with zero margin.

We spend money as soon as, or often before, we’ve earned it.

We fill our diaries to the brim.

We fill our homes with too much stuff, then need somewhere to put all that stuff.

Living life this way misses an important point, we need margins.

Having the buffer of savings gives us a degree of freedom and peace of mind.  We have choices we would not have without them.

Having a diary with space in it means we can go about our days in a focused but relaxed way.   Making time for the important tasks and discussions.

Appreciating what enough looks like for us means we do not fill our homes with clutter that overruns us.  We feel no reason to compare to what someone else has.  No envy.  No pull to over consume.

Margins are important.  They give us space.  Space to breathe, space to think, space to reset, space to be.

The margins are where some of life’s magic can be found.  Are you making space for them?
