Walk a Mile

To walk in someone elses shoes is to understand.  To live as someone else is to experience firsthand.

We can do neither.  All we can do is observe, assume and guess what someone’s motive and story is.

We can assume the best or the worst but this doesn’t make it so.

We can call someone arrogant and aloof, but perhaps they are just shy.

We can call someone quiet and distant, but maybe they just need time inside themselves to be their best selves.

We can call someone loud and overconfident, without seeing the fear inside they try so hard to cover.

We can judge or we can try to understand.  We can try to see past our own prejudices or we can wallow in them.  We can choose.

Walk a mile in someone elses shoes.  How do those shoes fit?
