Optimism Is a Choice (A Reminder to Myself)

“You have choice, you are master of your attitude, choose the positive, the constructive. Optimism is a faith that leads to success.”

– Bruce Lee

I actively seek out good things in this world.

Good people. Good energy.  Good times.

I choose to actively create good things in this world.

Through my words and actions.  Through my books and poetry. Through my service to others.

I resist the cynical, empty headed, mentality that chooses to incite envy or hatred.  This is not the way.

I choose the light.  I choose to share my light.

I reject the toxic energy others may try to spread.  No room here for your discontent. No room here for your ignorance, spite and vitriol.

I see problems in the world but I choose to believe that my actions, and the actions of others, can solve those problems.  I am hopeful we will do better.  And we can always do better.

I choose to lead with kindness but this doesn’t mean my kindness should be mistaken for weakness.  The opposite is true.  Kindness is strength.

When I need it most, this is a reminder to myself.
